L. Dennett is a founding partner of
Dennett Winspear. Prior to founding
Dennett Winspear, Mr. Dennett
was a partner at a medium-sized Las Vegas law firm - Pearson,
Patton, Shea, Foley & Kurtz, where he had been affiliated for
approximately eight years.
Mr. Dennett's practice at his former firm was focused in the areas
of insurance, first and third-party defense, insurance bad faith,
insurance coverage, commercial law, plaintiff's personal injury and
family law. Mr. Dennett's substantial experience includes jury
trials, bench trials, arbitrations, mediations and appellate
practice.
Mr. Dennett received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1992 from
Southern Utah University. Thereafter, he attended the J. Reuben
Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, graduating with his
Juris Doctorate in 1995. He was admitted to practice law in Nevada
in 1995 and in Utah in 1997. Mr. Dennett maintains an active license
with the Bars of both states and handles matters throughout Nevada
and Utah. He is a member bar for the federal courts in both Nevada
and Utah, as well as the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the
United States Supreme Court.
Since founding Dennett Winspear,
Mr. Dennett has continued his emphasis in the areas of litigation,
to include insurance (third and first party), insurance bad faith,
medical malpractice defense, commercial litigation, business
litigation, plaintiff's personal injury, administrative actions and
family law. Mr. Dennett has successfully defended clients in trial
and arbitration and has recovered large settlements for Plaintiffs
in appropriate personal injury matters. These have included wrongful
death, products liability, automobile collisions and medical
malpractice. Mr. Dennett has lectured on insurance coverage,
insurance bad faith, first party and third party claims.
Notable in Mr. Dennett's legal experience are many lengthy and
complex jury trials. These include the representation of
individuals, corporations, hospitals and physicians. Mr. Dennett has
argued appellate matters before the Nevada Supreme Court and the
United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Dennett is married and is the father of two children. When not
practicing law or spending time with his family, Mr. Dennett is an
avid outdoor sportsman and has traveled in Africa, Alaska and
throughout the continental United States to pursue this passion.
